Talon Marks is the student newspaper for Cerritos College in Norwalk, CA.
Founded in 1955, Cerritos College is a public comprehensive community college serving an area of 52 square miles of southeastern Los Angeles County. The college offers degrees and certificates in 87 areas of study in nine divisions. More than 1,200 students successfully complete their course of studies each year. Each semester the college serves more than 21,000 students.
The Cerritos College student body is a majority of minorities: Hispanics, Asians, African-Americans, Pacific Islanders and Native Americans together account for more than 60 percent of our students. The college attracts students directly from high school, but it also attracts the returning student who may have been out of school for many years. It serves first generation college students as well as college students with a college family tradition.
Talon Marks is published as a print publication (4,000 circulation), an online publication and a digital publication throughout the fall and spring semesters of the school year by students enrolled in Journalism 107 - College Newspaper. In addition, newspaper students produce a weekly news radio show on the campus radio station WPMD and, some semesters, a news-feature magazine (Wings). Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
