With school starting so soon after the holidays, finding the perfect outfits for the new semester could either be a difficult task or an easy one due to how much you spent on those holiday gifts for friends and family.

Being fashionable at a reasonable price is not impossible, though, according to students around campus. Students decided to share where and how much they got their outfits for.

Ivan Sanchez, a business administration major, was dressed to impress. “I got my shoes at Aldo for around one hundred and eighty , my pants at H&M; for around fourty dollars, and my shirt from Forever21 , two shirts for ten dollars.

Sanchez went on to add that he purchased his Kenneth Cole messenger bag from Staples. While Sanchez was in a good cost for this first day outfit others were a little more reasonable with prices

Another “fashionista” by the name of Deanelle Fimbres, a zoology major, had the three main looks that most ladies rock around campus: big bag, bun, and boots.

Although Fimbres’ outfit may not have been as costly as Sanchez’s, she still was ready to make her fashion statement on campus. She was able to dress to impress with a budget in mind.

“I got my denim jacket from the thrift store for a dollar, I got my skirt at Downtown [Los Angeles] for ten dollars, this tub top from a store for five dollars, my boots online for $20, and my necklace from Downtown [Los Angeles] for a dollar.”

Areal Hughes, a dance major, also knows how to be a bargain shopper on a college student’s budget.

“I got my necklace from Forever21, my dress, that looks like a shirt, from Forever21, and the skirt [I’m wearing] is from a place called J-core. My whole outfit, I spent about fourty dollars,” said Hughes.

Hughes wasn’t the only one to find a bargain at Forever21. Jasmin Banuelos, whose major is undecided, was able to put an outfit together for under eighty dollars.

“The top and the skirt i got at Forever21. I think the top was about fourteen dollars and the skirt was about twenty dollars. The over the knee socks, i got at Target for five dollars, the saddle shoes from Modcloth for thirty dollars, and the hat on Ebay for eight dollars,” said Banuelos.

Banuelos also added red lipstick to her look to make her outfit stand out.

With all the money that students spend on books and classes, it’s not surprising that when it comes to fashion, it’s best to find clothes that are under economic budget, but because the clothes don’t cost much, doesn’t mean you can’t look great!
