“Hear My Story: Know My World” Literature Event

The event on Sept. 9 features writers:
Paula Pereira will hold a workshop from 9-10 AM, called "How to Write and Illustrate Your Best Migration Story." First fifty people to come to Paula's workshop will receive a free copy of her book "How I Learned English: The Story of a Brave Mexican Girl." The book has become required reading in many ESL classrooms.
Sara Borjas will hold a workshop for students from 10-11 AM, called "Taking Your Shadow To Poetry School and Beyond."
Reyna Grande, award-winning writer and inspiration speaker, will speak at 11:00 AM and sign books. Her topic? "The Journey Between Us: From Community College Student to Published Author." This Transfer Velocity Event is in conjunction with Hispanic Heritage and Latino Awareness Month.
