8th Poetry Night & Open Mic Event

The Library Club is delighted to be hosting the 8th Poetry Night & Open Mic Event this Thursday, December 4, 2014, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in LC 155 (Teleconference Room).
Come and enjoy an enlightening night of poetry and invite your students to attend. If your students would like to share their poems on stage, please encourage them to be contestants.
Contestant Criteria:
· Must be a Cerritos College student.
· Poem needs to be original.
· Poem can be read in other languages as long as an English translation is available. Student needs to submit and read both versions of the poem.
· Poetry reading should be less than 7 minutes.
· A copy of the poem needs to be submitted to [email protected] no later than Wednesday, December 3, 2014.
Below are five faculty members who gladly accepted our invitation to serve as judges for this event:

Cash prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners. Gift cards will be awarded to the honorable mention winners.
1st place: $50.00
2nd place: $35.00
3rd place: $25.00
Honorable Mention - $15.00 (gift card)
The event is free and open to the public!
Some poems contain adult content not appropriate for young children.
