Members of the LAPD were on scene during a rally organized by the neo Nazi group the National Socialist Movement to "Reclaim the South" on April 17 in Downtown Los Angeles in celebration of Adolf Hitler’s birthday on April 20 in front of Los Angeles City Hall.

Officers formed a barricade around the NSM to protect them from counter protestors who also hit the streets to make their voices heard.

The rally drew hundreds of counter protestors from various groups including the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Jewish Labor Committee, the Spartacus League, and several political activists.
