In a week or two, students like Industrial Technology major Mark Freeman who lives with his wife will receive a large, white envelope in the mail from the United States Census Bureau and have a decision to make: open it, or trash it?


“I know the census is important because it takes a count of all the people living in America,” Freeman said. “If I get it, I’ll fill it out, but I won’t hunt for it.”

The Adult Education & Diversity Program had received a $141,400 grant from the California Community Foundation on Nov. 1 of last year. The grant is going to be used in a two-year period to pay teachers to teach in the workplace.

Graduation petition deadline arriving

Cerritos College students must file for a request for an AA Degree/Certificate of Achievement form by March 1 and return to the counselors office in order to have their name appear in the Commencement Program.
