Disney Audtions

Disney is holding an open call for college students who perform musical theater for their Broadway-caliber, theatrical production of Aladdin -- A Musical Spectacular. Auditions will be held on Thursday and Friday.

Claudia Escobar, a theater major at Cerritos College, stated, "I auditioned for Disney before, but haven't been lucky enough to get cast yet." She plans to read for the lead role of Jasmine.

According to Escobar, she is very nervous about the audition and plans to work with Robin Huber, a theater professor at Cerritos College, for direction and feedback. She hopes that working with him will increase her chances.

The show will be directed by the award-winning director Francesca Zambello and choreographed by acclaimed Broadway choreographer Lynne Taylor-Corbott.

Aladdin will be performed in the state-of-the-art, indoor 2,000-seat Hyperion Theater at Disney's California Adventure Park.
