The Falcons men's basketball team tried to follow the Pasadena Lancers shot for shot during the first 10 minutes of the game last Tuesday at home, but failed quickly when the Lancers got ahead 19-5 with 10 minutes left in the first half.
The Lancers kept their momentum ending the game 96-81.
Leading the Falcons be least 10 points or more for the majority of the game and ending it 15 points ahead.
The Falcons possessed a solid defense and possessed the ability to get a shot off, but couldn't get synchronize with each other enough to execute the game with a win.
Darius Williams, freshman forward, led the Falcons with the most points, ending with 19. "I think the reason we lost is cause of unecssary turn over's. Our team wasnt really there. Missing shots, rushing. To me that's the reason why we lost not cause they beat us, but because we beat ourselves."
Keith Wiltz, freshman guard, followed Williams with 17 points. "As a team collectively we dont get enough rebounds, we dont stop the opposing team from getting offensive rebounds. They keep getting second chance points, that's really our down fall."
Between both freshmen, they made up 44 percent of the teams 81 points.
Josh Johnson, sophomore forward of the Lancers, dominated the game with 19 rebounds and 27 points.
Shawn Hampton, sophomore guard, led the game with 35 points.
Together, Hampton and Johnson completed 58 percent of their team's total points.
Leaving the Falcons at 8-15, with only four more games left in this season.
"We've had alot of difficulties this year from lack of experience and lack of size. Next year I really think the experience our freshmen earned this year is going to to put us in a real good position next year." says Falcons Head Coach Mays.
