Fair: Students walked down the library sidewalk during the Job Fair on Tuesday. It was organzied by Career Services, hosting companies like Chipotle and FedEx.

Students packed the library sidewalk at Cerritos College on Tuesday, Oct. 21, to see the different jobs.

Some of the employers included such names as Chipotle Mexican Grill, Tilly’s and FedEx Ground.

Synnikiu Avalos, business major, felt like there should have been more small jobs.

Avalos had been to 10 booths.

Her favorite booths included Tiffany’s and the World Financial Group.

Jesus Garcia, a program manager for California Education Centers, was one of the employers that was targeting college students for job opportunities.

Garcia has been representing CEC at Cerritos College for about four years.

He expressed that he saw a lot of great candidates and that overall he liked the atmosphere.

“Everybody has been friendly, the staff has been great and the students are here all the time. Everybody has been coming and going,” Garcia said.

Oracio Perez, nursing major, was planning to go to all of the booths offered at the job fair.

Perez believes that it’s one thing to have the job fair here, but it’s another for the students to grab the opportunity.

“It’s really interesting, it helps out a lot. It’s a lot of opportunities for jobs,” Perez said.

Luis Guzman
Luis Guzman, Managing Multimedia Editor
Fall 2014 Hey guys and gals, my name is Luis Guzman. I am journalism student at Cerritos College, I’ve been going there for about three years now. I have been involved with Talon Marks, the newspaper for Cerritos College, for five semesters. I have done mostly everything there is to do in Talon Marks; covering breaking news, page design, video production, podcast production, and photography. I like to read in my off time, mostly books about science fiction and horror. I also like to write fiction of my own, mostly poetry and short fiction. The career I have in mind would involve anything that has to do with creative writing and maybe writing some articles for newspapers here and there.

Spring 2015 Dear person looking at this bio, stop. Just stop. Ha! I kid. HI I'M SAM...and I do not like green eggs and ham. But I do like froyo. I'm a journalism major and for anyone that doesn't know what I intend to do with it, let me tell you...neither do I. It's just a passion I have and I enjoy everything within it. This is my second semester on the paper. This semester i'm the multimedia editor so I hope to do some exciting new things with that! Enough about school, more about myself. When i'm not at school, I'm working at one of my two jobs. In my free time, you can catch me roaming around the city or in front of a computer. My three addictions are social media, television and unfrosted PopTarts. I love to tweet nonsensicals and like pictures of different animals on Instagram. I love meeting new people even though many would say, "if awkward had a child, it would no doubt be her." One of my goals in life is to have Obama (or Beyonce) follow me back on Twitter. With all that being said, I can't wait to see what's in store for this semester. Let's get weird, Talon Marks! BYEEEE.
