Raul Samaniego

Hello, my name is Raul Samaniego. I am a local product from Excelsior Union High School. Currently, I am an adult re-entry student here at Cerritos and a graduate Falcon from the class of 1983/86. I transferred to Cal State Long Beach where I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology becoming the first college graduate in my family. I returned to Norwalk after year’s away living in San Diego and am currently attending both Cerritos and Cal State Fullerton preparing for a Master’s Degree program in the Behavioral Sciences. I have a love for writing and focus on current political, social and community issues. I now aspire to be on the reporting side of those events in addition to participating in them. I travel extensively and hope to report on some of those experiences including the Pyramids of Tenochtitlan, granite walls of Yosemite or the white sands of South Beach Florida during Spring Break. I also have an extensive sports background including stints in Football, Rugby and Volleyball. I’ve enjoyed the thrill of whitewater rafting, backpacking and fishing the Sierra for years. As a young adult I ventured into activities such as skiing, volunteering and activism. I will report where needed and look forward to my renewed time here at “UCLA” (University of Cerritos, left on Alondra).
