‘My Bloody Valentine 3D’ not a slasher

The 2009 “My Bloody Valentine” 3D remake of the 1981 original was a horrible slasher movie.

I wouldn’t even count this as a slasher film, it is more along the lines of a nonsensical violence movie.

The movie centers on a mining community that had a mineworker named Harry Warden trapped in a coma, then wakes up and goes on a killing spree on Valentine’s Day.

The title was too obvious, which makes me think of a less obvious title so I could wonder what the movie is about so I would want to go out and pay for a movie, but with a give away title like this one, I didnt really want to go pay, as I did not.

I did not like how it leads straight into the killings after the first ten minutes of the movie. Is a little suspense too much to ask for in a movie?

I am so glad that I did not pay to see this movie, cause I would have been really angry. But again I did not see it in 3D because the theatre I went to doesn’t screen 3D movies.

The graphics were horrible, it looked too cartoonish, but in a computer animated kind of way, so that also gets a fail on this movie.

The plotline was one too obvious, and should have had more detail to it, instead of jumping right to the killings.

This movie did not meet my expectations on the gore, and slashing, only three of the murders were even halfway decent, the other ones you can tell that the director tried to hard.

But it was somewhat entertaining in the middle were there was a slight mix in the story were it baffled me a little.

But in the end, I was right about the outcome.

I am a consistent fan of horror movies, and I am beginning to like them less and less with every new movie.

But in the end of the ranting of this movie, I give it a one thumb up for keeping me occupied and out of the house.

This narrows me down to say, any original slasher movie should be left alone, it was fine as it was, so please leave these movies alone and come up with some originality.

No Japanese English remake of scary movies, no remake of classics; they were actually good.

‘Cause it’s the old, simple things that are the best… like Gameboy Color.
