Fun to ‘stare at goats’

The title may throw you for a loop, but “The Men Who Stare at Goats is a black comedy to make you think about the government in a whole new way.

George Clooney and Ewan McGregor are hilarious in the new film, and the supporting cast—including Kevin Spacey, of “American Beauty fame—does a great job of making the film more entertaining.

Based on a book of the same name, “Goats” is about reporter Bob Wilton (McGregor) who stumbles upon a story of a former Special Forces operator (Clooney) named Lyn Cassady, in Kuwait.

Cassady lets Bob in on a little secret: he was involved with a special team of government spies who were trained to do pyschologically impossible tasks.

These tasks include “cloud bursting,” the art of making clouds disappear just by looking at them.

The movie goes by smoothly and all the actors make the movie extra enjoyable.

From the beginning, there is the feeling of wanting to see more, and the movie delivers.

Both main characters are supported by a great cast, and just when you think the movie is over, there’s another funny twist.

During the infamous scene in an interrogation room, Cassady is practically forced to make a goat’s heart stop by staring at it intently and vigorously.

This scene is surely going to make people laugh out loud, and it’s no wonder Clooney is seen as a comedy actor as well as a well-defined actor of this generation.

The movie is in theaters now and can be seen nationwide.
