The Office of International Student Services (OISS) is proud to partner with the Political Science Department as Professor Sunday Obazuaye will be discussing American democracy and how all individuals (citizens, immigrants, nonimmigrants) can contribute to the narrative of today’s political agenda as we approach upcoming elections and with the rise of continuing political topics and issues. The floor will also be opened for students to ask questions regarding these topics.

April 30, 2024For over 2500 years practitioners have attempted to coexist within a universe overflowing with sentient life. This talk explores human-animal solidarity from a Jaina perspective. This tradition offers a valuable comparison with contemporary debates on “political solidarity” with more-than-human others, and its radical commitment not to harm other living beings warrants serious consideration within contemporary scholarship on human-animal-ecological solidarity.
