The Palestinian Rally/Protest on May 15, 2021 began at the Wilshire Federal Building and demonstrators marched west chanting in support of Palestine. Many people believe the U.S. needs to stop funding Israel and provide more support for the Palestinians.

EMILY MELGAR: On Saturday, May 15, thousands marched in solidarity with Palestinians in Los Angeles after increasingly violent conflict between Israel and Palestine has continued to shock the world.

EMILY MELGAR: The escalating violence between the militant group, Hamas, and Israeli forces has left more than 200 people dead, most of which have been Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks. Protestors demand peace, justice and for Palestine to be free.

EMILY MELGAR: On May 12, a few days before the LA protest, President Joe Biden told reporters “Israel has the right to defend itself when you have thousands of rockets flying into your territory”. This statement has been met with widespread criticism and increased pressure from the Democratic party to offer stronger support to the Palestinians.
