If you really want to know how the Falcons are going to do this season in baseball, then here are some people who can answer that question.

Falcon Coach Ken Gaylord said, “Our goal is to win the conference championship and doing so, putting us in the best set for the post-season.

“Its too early to tell what the players care about the most. Whether it be individual statistics or team statistics.”

Last seson the Falcons finished 33-12. They ended the season with the league’s best earned-run average at 2.55.

The Falcons were swept by Cuesta and Palomar, and ended up tied for the South Coast Conference campaign with East Los Angeles.

The returuning players are Jesse Lugo, Dominick Phillips, Brett Cayton, Joseph Ammirato, John Vasconcellos, Bryan Bakers, Kalen Norton, Alex Coleman, Jim Slater and Jason Dibble.

Coleman said, “It’s going to be a tough season, Because L.A. Harbor has good pitching. L. A. City is pretty good. The conference is tough.

“We aren’t mentally ready for the season, because we have to work on putting the ball into play with two strikes, and the pitchers have to work on keeping the ball down.”

TJ Bruce said, “I think if we continue to work hard, we will have a good season.”

Phillips said, “I think we are going to have a pretty successful season. We have a good chance of wining it all.

“Our is defense pretty good. Our pitching at first was a little bit bad, but it has improved.

“We are really happy to play.” The reason is because “We have worked very hard.”

Rick Pijuan said “I think we’ve got a solid team.

“If we play well as a team, and if the pitchers do well, we will go pretty far.”
