Dear Editor,
I want to congratulate the students who voted in the ASCC (Associated Students of Cerritos College) presidential election. By electing Nassrin Bonyadloo and Sara Mayorga president and vice-president, the students spoke out for a change.
To Nassrin and Sara, I strongly urge you both to read and know the Student Government Manual, and to appoint mature and unselfish students to the government positions, and make the concerns of the students your only priority while in your positions.
The president, especially, and the vice president must realize and remember that they work solely for the Associated Students of Cerritos College. Their decisions must be made with the best interest of all the students in mind. Every student is supposed to be represented by them. Nassrin and Sara are the voice of approximately 22,000 students.
They also must realize that as long as they maintain the interest and concerns for all the students on this campus, they will have support from staff, faculty, administrators, and the Board of Trustees. They will also receive respect for their efforts.
Let me give them some words of advice. Since they won’t be able to please everyone, please the students. They are the ones who elected them.
I wish to thank the Cerritos College campus community for the wealth of knowledge I have gained.
Joyce Kelly, Student
