The great part of being related to a public figure like the President of the United States is the instant celebrity status and recognition incurred.

On the other hand, the problem with being related to the President of the United States is the instant notoriety and scrutiny by the public.

With the elevation of her old man to the top office of the land, Jenna has gone overnight from “Jenna who?” to instant national party animal and naughty girl.

Underage drinking, sneaking into bars and wild parties are a normal rite of passage for most of us as we get older.

Sure it is illegal, but then again so is speeding on the freeway and making a rolling stop.

Getting the punishment we so rightly deserve is just the price we pay for our fun.

After all, it is all a part of growing up.

The fact that Jenna happens to be surrounded by a highly trained and heavily armed corps of secret service personnel does not seem to be a problem for her, however.

You can bet the farm she will never be hassled by guys asking for her number or somebody messing with her drink.

The only problem I see is the army of tabloid reporters following in her wake, catching every broken nail and run in her nylons on film.

Come on, guys… give her a break!

It’s hard enough being in the public eye when there by choice.

It must be a nightmare for a teenager who just wants to have some fun.

Chelsea had a relatively free pass to grow up unmolested by the tabloids.

Doesn’t Jenna deserve the same consideration to let her hair down and party away from the stress of being the daughter of the president?

The next time you are in town, go ahead and give me a buzz, Jenna. Have your people call my people and let’s do lunch.
