With all the freaks, ghouls and monsters wandering the neighborhood for All Hallow’s Eve, it is only natural a few celebrity creatures would consent to grace humanity with their demonic presence.
In addition to all the “normal” witches, ghosts and goblins running around begging for food and committing minor crimes last week, a few big name Villains wandered onto the campus to survey the terrain for possible conquest.
It is every writer’s dream to have that big interview fall into his or her lap. In my particular case, this interview almost stepped on me.After strolling through the Falcon Quad and performing a few sample demonstrations of wanton destruction, Mr. Big, Arch-Villain Esquire kicked down the blast doors of the Talon Marks for a personal interview.
Once finished with the maniacal laughter and evil gloating, he grabbed me by the throat and tossed me into a chair for a personal one-on-one conversation.
Q: Skeletor, Dr. Death, the Grim Reaper. You seem to have done it all. Why the constant name and motif changing?
A: I have to keep the heroes on their toes and constantly on the run. After all, who wants to vanquish a fat and lazy good guy with powdered doughnut crumbs on his shirt?
Q: Why are you here at Cerritos College?
A: I was surveying the place and considered taking it over for use as a launching pad for future conquests. Then I met your ruling council, I believe you call them the Board of Trustees? You already have your own group of Tyrants as overlords here, so I think I will just look elsewhere.
A: I still plan to get that muscle-bound, steroid freak. He just got lucky the last time… and the time before that.
Q: You seem to have fallen away from the popular scene of late. Where have you been?
A: I have been on sabbatical. Even a super Villain such as myself needs a little bit of rest and relaxation. Hey, it isn’t easy getting tossed into a pit of lava every time you try taking over the universe.
