The Falcons played their last game of the season at Pasadena City College Tuesday and lost 6-0.
Defender for the Falcons Lupe Chavez said, “The Lancers are a good team but they need to adjust their attittudes, they had no sportsmanship whatsoever. Overall it was a good season this year.”
A fifth place finish can be considered a strong season for the women’s soccer team this year.
While the Falcons (6-10, 5-8 in South Coast Conference) couldn’t beat the high-ranked teams in the state, they were able to win against the lower class teams of the league.
Friday the Falcons hosted LA Harbor College and won, 4-1.
Forwards Claudia Lozano and Mauriel Chaidez each scored a goal for the Falcons, as did midfielders Jessica Escorsia and Maria Zuniga.
Coach Debbie Jensen said that the game plan was to punish them (the opponent ) with breakaways.
“It worked, we had a lot of rebounds.”
According to Jensen, this year was a big step for the program.
“The team had a lot of desire. The players would play hard until the end, even with the toughest teams.”
Escorsia scored with seconds remaining as the Falcons avoided a shutout in a 3-1 loss to visiting Mt. San Antonio College Oct. 30.
