Some coaches and players saw Wednesday’s 74-57 win over College of the Canyons by the Cerritos College men’s basketball team in its home opener as a disapointment.
Assitant coach, Tito Ortiz said the game was horrible. “There were a lot of injuries, (and) we had to play our second and third string guys.
“Our starting point guard Curtis Williams is out for three weeks.”
Starting guard James Perkins scored 30 points in the game for the Falcons.
He said, “We made a lot of mistakes. We need to play harder.
“We also had too many turnovers.”
The Falcons had 16 steals and 16 rebounds in the game.
According to Ortiz, the Falcons also had trouble making their free throws, making 14 out of 25 attempts.
“We weren’t ready mentally. We’ll have a couple of starters back from injuries when we play L.A. City College,” added Ortiz.
The Falcons will host L.A. City College Friday at 7:30 p.m.
