So which contest is hotter? The Mr. Cerritos contest or the Chili cook-off?

The 24th annual Hoe Down Days has begun. The chili cook-off and Mr. Cerritos contest is Wednesday in the student center and its sure to be an explosive event.

“This year we have nine contestants participating in the Mr. Cerritos contest and 18 in the Chili cook-off,” said Trudy Foster in student activities.

The chili cook-off judging will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the student center. The judges look for the Hottest Chili, Most Unique Chili and Judges Favorite Chili. Last year two of the awards were given to the culinary arts club students.

Mr. Cerritos is one event that Cerritos College students anticipate each year. The contest will be held in the student center at 11:00 a.m. The contestants must have a club sponsor them for the contest.

The contestants must answer questions given to them, lip-sync and show off some dance moves to the audience, and the swim suit contest(sorry no speedo’s at this contest).

So come out and support your club or just come out to root on these guys as they compete for the title of Mr. Cerritos.
