The race is on for Cerritos College Board of Trustees. There are four seats open to candidates to run for. The election for the Board of Trustees is Nov 4.
There are 12 candidates running for the board including three incumbents. Those running for the seats on the school board are:
- Carmen Avalos, a educator of South Gate
- Raul Havice Morales, a law enforcement officer of La Mirada
- Jesse Padilla, businessman of Downey
- Leonard Zuniga, businessman of Downey
- Martin Israel, government professor of Norwalk
- Tom Jackson, a retired accounting professor of Norwalk
- Miguel Lopez, a labor union representative of Norwalk
- Isidro “Skid” Rodriguez, a student affairs officer of Lakewood
- Laura Sanchez-Ramirez, a retired health care worker of Lakewood
Incumbents running for re-election:
- Robert Arthur of Norwalk
- Ted Edmiston of Lakewood
- John Moore of Cerritos
There were also two other people that took nomination papers out but did not file according to a representative of the Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters office.
