Imagine going to the club, having a bite to eat afterward, and settling down in a hotel suite all under one roof.

Now, back to reality. This place exists.

Located in the heart of the Sunset Strip, The Standard Hotel has the atmosphere as if stepping into a whole new world.

By day:

You are greeted by valet parking, and once you enter you walk into a floor to ceiling shag carpeted lobby lounge. You are then exposed to a poolside dessert cafe, Afterward [if you like] you can treat yourself to a haircut. The Standard provides its own barber shop, [Rudy’s] with a gift shop of necessary accessories and periodicals for your enjoyment.

The Rooms:

Every room [which can only be provided to guests 21 years of age and older because the rooms have a fully stocked mini bar] is decorated with poppy drapes and platform beds decorated with over sized pillows.

Silver bean bag chairs line the floor, while cozy robes hang in the closet. Each room is provided with large screen TVs [with Nintendo 64, and cable hook up], cordless two-line speaker phones, and stereos with a CD player and also with 24-hour room service.

Rooms are accessorized with candles and giant mirrors; exposed to your own private balcony with a view of the blue astro turf sundeck and with a heated pool and ping-pong table.

The bathrooms are also constructed with orange tile also provided with minibar essentials.

By night:

Once the clock strikes seven, the beautiful hotel is transformed into a popular night club. The front desk has been changed into a DJ table and live performance art [by real-life models] are provided in glass windows throughout the club. Music is blasted through the air, and the party doesn’t stop until 2 a.m.

The video wall shows films continuously throughout the night, while Restaurant 24/7 (the name came from the restaurant staying open for 24-hours) provides the food.

This action happens nightly but the only catch: you have to be 21 years of age to even think about joining the festivities.

The Standard Lounge is by far the most unique club I’ve ever experienced, and for those of you under age; Restaurant 24/7 is the only part of the lounge you’ll get to enjoy.
