Wednesday’s basketball game was, depending in which team coach you asked about it.

The Cerritos College men’s basketball team had home field advantage aganist the Los AngelesHarbor Seahawks defending on opposing territory.

During pre-game warm-ups both teams were on the floorpracticing without coach interference.

They were off the floor in important discussions.

Lots of practice shots were being taken and both teams seemed to be ready to finish off a game that started weeks ago.

Coach Tony Cartoloza for the Los Angeles Harbor Seahawks hadthis to say on Wednesday’s game.

The Seahawks played inconsistent in the last 13 minutes of the game.

“We were outscored 18-19 in the last 13 minutes of the game. Tony Cartoloza, the coach said”. “We had 7 turnovers in the last 13 minutes. Cerritos played hard and we just had a weak response to a very strong defense.” For the Seahawks Sotero Rivers, John Williams and Chris Avery all were given special accordance.

Sotoro Rivers, Seahawks forward, had made three shots on 13 attempts.

For the Falcons Travelle Jones, forward, led the team with 30 points on 24 attempts.

Cerritos made 15 free throws on 23 attempts.

It was a whole different story on the Cerritos terrain. Head coach Gary Cain was very specific as to what he expected out of his team.

“This was the best defense we have seen all year,” the coach contended.” This was a definitive aspect of team specifics.

During the last 13 minutes of the game, there was a dunk performed by the Falcons that obviously shook the Seahawks defense.

Cain explains, “The main thing is, if we continue to play on both ends of the floor, as we did, with this level of intensity, we will succeed undoubtly. Key word, togetherness.”
