The ASCC senate approved recommending a price increase for parking to the board last Wednesday.

It was passed 17 in favor to nine opposed, with two abstentions.

ASCC Vice President Shola Shidoya clarified that this does not mean that the price will be increased, just that the ASCC will recommend it to the board.

The senate also went over several more different topics.

It welcomed Anthony Garcia, a Cerritos College graduate, who is running for Norwalk City Council.

He stressed that the relationship between Norwalk and Cerritos College needs to improve and stated that he would work to improve it.

ASCC President Michael Barrita also discussed the iFALCON scholarship fund and the ways the clubs are organizing to raise funds.

They will be hosting a car wash Feb. 13 at the Moose Lodge and all funds will go towards the scholarship fund.

Barrita said the plan is to raise between $2,000 and $5,000.

He hopes to establish a permanent scholarship fund at Cerritos.
