The Disabled Student Programs and Services recently made a decision to eliminate math tutoring services that were previously offered to special needs students that qualified under this program.
The decision to make this cut was justified under the climate of recession and statewide budget cuts, in which more sacrifices are to be shouldered by those who are the most in need.
“What’s the point of being in DSPS if they’re not going to provide special need students with the basic tools to do well in school”, Rocio Fonseca said, a frustrated DSPS student who will be affected by this outrageous cutback.
