Homecoming court is announced

The Homecoming Court was finalized on Thursday evening. The first official meeting of the seven ladies took place on Friday morning where they all gathered and met each other for the first time as well.

 The finalist include:

1. Tiffany Gaskin of the BSU – Black Student Union

2. Monica Reyes – Court Reporting Club

3. June K. Romo – Independent

4. Sana Khan of the A.S.E.T. – Applied Science, Engineering and Technology club

5. Lauren Castaneda of the ISA – International Student Association

6. Evie Mendoza – Student Veterans Club

7. Suzette Vega – Theta Kappa

The ladies were anxious to hear Dean Ackland tell them the itinerary of events that were in store for them.

The one thing that Ackland emphasized on was how much fun this is experience is going to be. “You are all winners” he said.

The events include the semi-formal court introductions in the Student Center on Tuesday.

This would enable the girls to introduce themselves to the students.

On Wednesday eveningat 6:00 p.m. at the Social Science patio, is activities night with the Homecoming Court. Dean Ackland will be there handing out 600 Chick-fil-A sandwiches.

Thursdays event is highly anticipated. That’s the Mock Rally held in the Student Center at 11:30 a.m. Each Homecoming finalist has to get a men to mock them.

The men will each have to do a 45 second performance on stage. Dean Ackland makes sure that the guys get a little spoiled if they agree to do this.

He said, “It’s all in fun and I want to make sure that the guys who do this are shown appreciation. I give the guys t-shirts, movie passes and other really cool stuff,” he also emphasized.

“This is a really fun event,” the women roared with laughter and enthusiasm about this particular event.

Romo enthusiastically said, “I’m so excited.”

With our Cerritos College Falcons football team undefeated, this will make for an intensely energetic Homecoming game on October 24, when Riverside comes to our neck of the woods.
