In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, Cerritos College will host the Battle of Puebla Fiesta, Wednesday, in the Falcon Square Amphitheater at 11 a.m.
With the collaboration of the History Department and the Sociedad de Profesores Hispanos the event aims to educate and preserve the Chicano/Hispanic culture.
Students of all cultures are welcome to attend the festivity and celebrate the historic Battle of Puebla, that will feature music, food, and poetry reading both in English and in Spanish.
Burritos, chips, and traditional horchata drink are some of the items on the menu that will be sold, to fundraise for the Puente Students.
Linda Guandique, Teacher TRAC student program, said, “I think that the event is a great way of showing us other cultures customs, and will allow us to preserve Hispanic traditions.”
