Cerritos College Business Club won fourth place in Human Resources Management  in the Phi Beta Lambda State Business Leadership Conference that was held the weekend of March 26.

Chris Strawder, Business and Administrations major says, “I learned a lot from the conference and I hope next time to become a club officer”.

UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, CSU Fullerton, UC Irvine and community colleges came to the PBL State Business Leadership Conference.

Also placing in other categories, such as Business Decision Making, were club president Ben Basuni and member Julian Revilleza.  Also, Club Vice President Josue  Hernandez placed first  in Sales and Presentation Competition.

Basuni speaks on the old, the new, and future of the Phi Beta Lambda chapter. He says, “I plan on getting new staff that will come together and work hard with me in striving to better the club.”

If any student that is a Business Major and has a 2.0. grade point average, Phi Beta Lambda meets every first Tuesday and Thursday of every two months.

Preparing for this year’s conference did not come without its challenges. “Usually we have a chatter bus every year but my advisor professor Hy Finkelstein called me two days before the conference saying there will not be a bus this year. So I had to called a few of the members to ask them if they can car pool,” said Basuni.

By having experience in this field Basuni feels that he is more than capable to fulfill the duties of being president of the Business Club.

“My dad was a Business man and my friends are Business people as well and I just thought why go into to something I am  already involved in. It is a lot of work but I feel this all worth it.” Said Basuni
