First place Lady Falcon soccer team getting the win East LA College 2-0 on their Friday game, the team looks dominate there way through playoffs.

“I am very pleased with the team. The sophomores have really been stepping up, and the freshmen have been filling in the gaps. So we are ready”, assistant coach Candice Silva Said.

The Falcons, who finished the regular season with the record of 18-1-2, a 12-0-2 in conference and a 16 game non-losing streak, the ladies clinched their South Coast Conference championship and are motivated to keep playing their highly intense style to win the title.

“We do have an exceptional team, so we are really ready and prepared for (the playoffs)” goalkeeper Sandra Coto said.

With a great game against ELAC, Coto finished her season off with a new single season record by getting her 15th goal shutout, by getting five during the game.

Also, another record set this season and after this game were the ladies only let three goals be scored on them in their conference.

“(The three goals) shows that the team has good defense to not let them get a goal on us. We are very good defense wise”, Coto said.

This beats the last record set in 2006, which was only one more goal scored.

The Falcons first playoff game will be on Nov. 20 against East LA again; whose record is 18-5-2 this season.
