iFalcon to host the first Inter Club Council tourament

Cerritos College iFalcon club is presenting its first Inter Club Council Tournament on Sept. 22 at 11:30 a.m to 1 p.m, located at the New Fitness Field.

Amna Jara, Coordinator Student Activities, explained that iFalcon has been working on this event for a month.

She also said the cover price for a club to enter the tournament will be $10 and added that the winning team will receive a scholarship.

Jara also added “I am looking forward to seeing all the clubs out there having a good time.”

President of the iFalcon club Bertha Calderon said that the tournament will be scored through a point system and after five games teams will start getting eliminated.

The games include Balloon Toss, Sponge Race, Izzy DIzzy, Balloon Pop, Three Legged Race, Ballon Tag, Beach Volleyball, Crab Race, and Egg Race.

Calderon added that last two teams will play Beach Volleyball to determine the winner of the tournament.

She explained that many clubs will be participating in the event and said “The ICC tournaments’ purpose is to get the clubs together and create awareness about other clubs (on campus) and iFalcon.”

She also explained they will be other clubs helping set up the event.

Calderon also added with high hopes about the event and said “ if we make this ICC tournament successful I hope this event will live on for future years.”

ICC commissioner Daniel Fragoso is one of the other students that will be attending the ICC tournament.

Fragoso said he will be helping out during the event and that PSA club will be competing also.

He also explained “ theirs a lot of competitive clubs and very energetic that are going to be competing.”

Fragoso also said this type of tournament is a good way for Cerritos student to get involve and meet other clubs and hopes this type of event will stay in Cerritos for a long time.

English major Abner Caguioa explained that he first found out about the tournament in the first ICC meeting and thought it was a good idea.

Caguioa also said “ this tournament it’s a good way to get clubs together.”

He also added that ISA club will also be attending and that the event good way for Cerritos students to bond and is looking forward to network and making new friends.
