Obama isn’t our savior

Although many people are looking forward to having the first African American president, not many realize that their hopes and expectations will not be meet by Barack Obama.

Obama will not go down in history as just another president of the United States, but rather as a symbol of equality, justice and for many, freedom.

African Americans have, for many years, struggled and fought for equal rights and equal representation of their race.

To them, Obama is the answer to their prayers and the symbol of their accomplishment.

Although I, for one, am very happy and grateful to what our country is experiencing at this moment, I must admit that I do not look forward to the next four years of his presidency.

Obama represents so much more than just a country.

He represents the hopes and dreams of an entire race.

Because he is the first African American president, a lot will be expected from him.

Every single thing he says and every single move he makes will be criticized at a much more aggressive manner than any other president.

He carries the weight of too many people, too many hopes and too many dreams.

Obama speaks of change and all these improvements he will provide for the country.

In reality, though he may try to make these changes and make these improvements, our country is too far down the gutter to have the capability of being fixed any time soon, let alone by one man.

Not only that, but the American people have been trashed and scattered so badly, that they expect Obama to be their savior and save them from this horrid place we call America.

I am proud of Obama for carrying himself so well knowing exactly the responsibility he now carries.

However, as much as I respect and honor him, I must admit that he will only end up being hated and mistreated for his attempt to fix this country.

The hopes, dreams and expectations of an entire race and an entire country are all in the hands of one man; hands that as much as they try to fulfill these hopes, dreams and expectations, he will only end up shattering them.

America has entrusted and is expecting too much of this man.

By expecting so much, they will only add to the stress that the presidency already provides.

People need to face reality and realize that Obama will not accomplish what everyone expects him to.

He will only be another factor in the destruction of America.
