Living the american dream is on every college student’s mind that first day of school.

Making money is a huge reason why students choose to go to college and know that it won’t be an easy ride to get the degree.

Whether you’re a student or a student athlete, you still have to work hard in order to succeed. Nothing should be just handed to you.

The question being asked is whether or not student National Collegiate Athletic Association athletes should be paid and my answer is no.

Choosing to go to college is a choice and if you choose to play a sport in those years that you’re at school is also a choice.

The school systems barely have enough money to help students afford school and by paying college athletes for wanting to play a sport will only make matters worse.

In my opinion, the reward of going to school and playing a sport is being picked up by a professional team after you receive your degree.

It pushes students to want to finish school and not waste away federal aid money because the students knows that they will be paid anyway; that’s why professional athletes get paid so much.

Another reason why they shouldn’t be paid is the simple fact that we can’t place a dollar value on one student rather than another.

Is the value of a student who is a musician or a journalist worth any less than an athlete? Absolutely not.

It does not make any sense to say that an athlete is worth more than a musician.

Why not pay the musician to make music or pay an artist to paint or pay a dancer to dance?

We have to learn to draw the line to why student athletes get treated in such a different way than any other students on campus.

There are many key people on campus who do a lot for our college and don’t get paid for what they do.

In all, I don’t think that students who are athletes are any less of worth to college and if a person chooses to play a sport then it becomes a personal choice and they should b able to enjoy the time in college doing what they love, but I feel like every student needs to be equal.

All students work hard in college and the reward at the end of the tunnel is greater than any reward that can be received only halfway down the road.
