The absurdity of the great wall of Trump

It is no secret that President Trump is pushing to enforce stricter border security across the United States and Mexico border in order to prevent more illegal immigrants, crime and transportation of drugs from entering the country but this idea won’t work as well as it may seem.

The idea of building an estimated billion dollar wall is absolutely absurd, not only because of its cost but will it even be effective?

Many people, including Trump himself, have cited Israel’s “wall” as a model barrier for the border.

First of all, we cannot compare the U.S.’s society and problems with Israel’s problems and solutions.

The U.S. and Israel are both political and societally divergent and none of us are entitled to compare.

Both countries may have similar situations concerning borders, but it is not the same case due to different positions that they both stand by.

Israel’s purpose for building their wall was to keep Palestinians out due to a political conflict meanwhile the U.S.’s purpose is to reinforce illegal transportation of human and drug trafficking.

There are some problems such as terrorism, immigration reform, foreign and domestic policies that a wall cannot solve such as the current political issues the country is going through.

A wall may seem like a logical solution by blocking and securing the country from any threat or illegal activity such as transportation human trafficing, drug or weapons from entering the country but the problem is that people from the other side will find “alternative ways” to get in.

Drug cartels and people living beyond the border are laughing at our stupidity and know that a wall won’t stop them from smuggling people and drugs in.

Criminal organizations in Mexico are improving their tunnels by making them smaller and more sophisticated by featuring electricity and railways.

Cartels are clever and can outsmart checkpoints, such as how they observe and study how security operates.

A perfect example that occurred not too long ago, Mexico’s government became an international laughingstock when one of the most wanted drug lords, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman escaped a maximum security prison in Mexico through an underground tunnel.

This example speaks for itself and demonstrates how sketchy these type of people are.

Having “Mexico pay for the wall” would be a difficult and absurd demand for Mexico’s shady president, Enrique Peña Nieto to agree on.

Just by hearing Mexico’s crime rate and controversial administration clearly demonstrates how President Peña Nieto cannot run his own country.

With all the controversies surrounding the Mexican government, there is no telling if they will corporate as well.

We all know that Mexico won’t pay for the wall and it is not a surprise to anyone due to their reputation as being dishonest when its about how politically corrupt their government is.

The immigration system is plagued with problems and factors such as the overstay of visas and the number of migrants and tourists that may come in.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, the “main source” of illegal immigration into the U.S. is by overstaying their visas.

Why should we all care?

This is an issue that affects every community as Americans.

We can all agree that the safety of our people and country are important, action must be taken in order to prevent any potential danger before anything more serious can occur.

Our borders do need to be more well guarded and to be taken seriously.

We must think outside the box and prepare for the major flaws that may come with it.
