Women’s basketball prepares for its first playoff game

After posting a 23-6 record, the Cerritos College women’s basketball team earned a first-round bye in the 2011 Southern California Regional Playoffs and will take on Riverside College in the second round.

It finished second place in the South Coast Conference after posting a 13-6 conference record.

The Falcons have won 12 of the last 14 games.

The Falcons are ranked No. 5 in the state and are the No. 4 seed in the bracket. 

They will play against the Tigers, who are the No. 13 seed, at Gahr High School on Friday at 7 p.m.
