Fighting for Breast Cancer and a win, the Cerritos College volleyball team eventually lost its game to Long Beach City College, 3-2 on Wednesday at Gahr High School.

LBCC Head Coach Suzie Witmer said about the game, “I think both teams were equally matched and it was just a battle all the way through the end.”

In the first set, Cerritos was up 10-5. With LBCC playing scrappy and Cerritos being overly aggressive and missing easy opportunities, both teams were neck and neck all the way up to 17 points for each team.

Both teams pushed passed 25 points, but it was Cerritos that came out on top, winning the first set 27-25.

In the second set, the Falcons and Vikings continued to go neck and neck up to 21 and then tied again at 25 points for each team. However, LBCC pushed to win the second set, 27-25.

In the third set, Cerritos pushed for the win, but Long Beach was able to come back and win in the fourth set.

By the fifth set, the point difference between the two teams grew as Falcons were behind by 3 almost the entire game until Vikings finally ended the game with a win.

Cerritos will play against Pasadena City College on Friday at Gahr High School at 6:30 p.m.
