In an impressive win, the Cerritos College women’s basketball team cruised to a 91-47 win against Los Angeles Trade College on Jan. 28.
The Falcons held “Lady Tech” to 22-9 from the field in the first half and 35-9 in the second half.
Cerritos College made 14 out of 20 free throws on the night.
The Falcons consistently held a 20 point lead through the game.
The highest Falcons scorer was Regina English, who scored 17 points.
Coach Karen Welliver shared her views of the game.
“We rebounded well and we were unselfish with the ball. We got our shot inside and [defensively] we pressed them pretty good.”
LATTC shot 7-for-17 from deep compared to the Falcons’ who dropped 7-31 from the three point line.
Shooting guard Andrina Rendon commented on the areas where the Falcons need improvement.
“We just have box them out and reduce turnovers in our games.”
The Falcons’ next game will at Gahr H.S. against Long Beach City College on Feb. 1 at 5 p.m.
