Playoffs loom for men’s water polo team

For the first time since 2004, the Cerritos College men’s water polo team reigns atop the South Coast Conference as champion, with its women’s counterpart securing its conference title for the second consecutive season.

Both teams have received a first-round bye, and will be playing their second-round matchups on Nov. 9.

The No. 3 seeded Cerritos College men (25-9) will play Palomar College (21-6) at 4:30 p.m., while the No. 4 seeded women (28-3) prepare for a rivalry clash against Long Beach City College (16-10) at 9:00 a.m.

For the Falcons, two familiar foes present themselves as a playoff challenge, with the men having defeated the Comets (Palomar) twice, and the women triumphing over the Vikings (Long Beach).

Rounds 3 and 4 are slated to take place the following day, on Nov. 10.
