The Cerritos College football team crashed the party at Allan Hancock College last Saturday as it overwhelmed the Bulldogs 28-7 and ruined the Bulldogs’ celebration as they were honoring their undefeated 1960 football team.
With the win Cerritos clinched the Big 10 conference championship as they set their sights on the Southern California Regional Playoffs on Saturday.
Falcons’ quarterback Kane Wilson asserted his presence early in the game, hitting wide receiver Darryl Jenkins on the Falcons’ first play from scrimmage for a 31-yard gain.
Wilson continued his dominance throughout the game and finished the game with 276 yards and two touchdown passes.
The two scores came on a 45-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Lindsey Anderson and a 43-yard touchdown to wide receiver Dion Curry.
Despite Wilson’s success on the offensive end, the Falcons’ defensive unit was played a vital role in the teams’ forth straight conference win, holding the Bulldogs scoreless until the fourth quarter when they gave up a rushing touchdown.
The Falcons will likely be seeded No. 2 and open the post-season at home against the Saddleback College Gauchos, who defeated them in the first meeting on Oct. 2 28-24.
