On behalf of the Office of International Student Services, we invite you as part of our Global Roundtable Series to attend a seminar co-facilitated by Professor Sunday Obazuaye. The Office of International Student Services (OISS) is proud to partner with the Political Science Department as Professor Sunday Obazuaye will be discussing American democracy and how all individuals (citizens, immigrants, nonimmigrants) can contribute to the narrative of today’s political agenda as we approach upcoming elections and with the rise of continuing political topics and issues. The floor will also be opened for students to ask questions regarding these topics.

By destigmatizing mental health conversations and promoting positive attitudes towards seeking help, the workshop seeks to empower individuals to prioritize their mental well-being and thrive in their lives. For over 2500 years practitioners have attempted to coexist within a universe overflowing with sentient life. This talk explores human-animal solidarity from a Jaina perspective. This tradition offers a valuable comparison with contemporary debates on “political solidarity” with more-than-human others, and its radical commitment not to harm other living beings warrants serious consideration within contemporary scholarship on human-animal-ecological solidarity.
