April 30, 2024
For over 2500 years practitioners have attempted to coexist within a universe overflowing with sentient life. This talk explores human-animal solidarity from a Jaina perspective. This tradition offers a valuable comparison with contemporary debates on “political solidarity” with more-than-human others, and its radical commitment not to harm other living beings warrants serious consideration within contemporary scholarship on human-animal-ecological solidarity.
