As the 2025 National Football League season has ended after Super Bowl 60, there have been moves by teams spending money on players as they prepare for the 2026 NFL Season that starts in September.
There have been many signings, trades and cuts that shocked the league.
The Arizona Cardinals released quarterback Kyler Murray. Murray was the starting quarterback for the team for the last seven seasons after he was drafted as the first overall pick back in the 2019 NFL draft by the Cardinals.
Murray had later signed a one year contract with the Minnesota Vikings that is at league’s minimum cost at $1.3 million because the Cardinals are paying him $36.8 million guaranteed.
The Miami Dolphins had released quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after several injuries he had during his time with the Dolphins when he started for the team for six seasons after he was drafted as the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft.
Tua later signed a one year $1.3 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons that pairs him up with quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
One of the biggest blockbuster trades of the offseason was the Las Vegas Raiders and the Baltimore Ravens.
The Raiders had traded away their best defensive end Maxx Crosby to the Ravens in return for two first round picks (2026 and 2027), however the Ravens would backout on the trade as Crosby would still remain on the Raiders roster and the trade has been cancelled after he failed a physical due to the concerns of his left knee.
“Everything Happens For A Reason. Believe Nothing You Hear & Half Of What You See. I’m A Raider. I’m Back. Run That Sh*t,” said Crosby on his Instagram post after the news that he was not going to the Ravens and is committed to stay with the Raiders.
The Ravens would later sign Edge Trey Hendrickson for four years with his contract worth $112 million with $60 million fully guaranteed and a maximum value of $120 million.
Wide Receiver Mike Evans signed a deal with the San Francisco 49ers as his contract is worth $42.4 million for three years after 12 years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After winning the Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks and winning Super Bowl MVP, Running Back Kenneth Walker III had signed a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs worth $43.05 million for three years.
The Chiefs struggled offensively during the 2025 season as quarterback Patrick Mahomes had suffered an ACL injury that forced the Chiefs to miss the playoffs.
Wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers giving up a sixth round pick and receiving a seventh round pick from the Indianapolis Colts.
Tight end Travis Kelce re-signs with the Chiefs for one year for $12 million as there were rumors after the 2025 season that he was going to retire from playing football in his career.
With many signings and trades during this offseason, there is more to come as on Apr 23, the 2026 NFL Draft will see teams draft new faces into the NFL to add as their prepare to kickoff the 2026 season.
