11:00 am: MISSION SAN GABRIEL Archaeological Truth Unearthed

April 16, 2019

Mission San Gabriel Archaeological Truth Unearthed 11 am, April 16 in SS 315.

Special presentation by archaeologist John Dietler on excavations at the mission.

Our Cerritos colleague John Macias (California history instructor, current director of the San Gabriel Mission Museum, and expert in the history of Latinos in the U.S.) has secured archaeologist John Dietler to come to our campus and discuss the latest discoveries from the diggings at the mission. All majors are welcome. This is an excellent topic for a paper and/or discussion.

This event is co-hosted by the History Club, the Anthropology Club, and the History and Anthropology Departments. What do these artifacts say about this mission and the mission system? Come and find out.
