El Napal Press works on display

The Cerritos College Art Gallery has made available to the public the new exhibition called Architecture Museography and Equivalents#2 an installation by Francesco X Sequeiros.

According to the press release, this exhibition is a selection of prints from El Nopal Press.

El Nopal Press is an independent fine art press run by Sequeiros, artist and master printer.

The collection of El Nopal Press includes artists such as John Baldassari, Diane Gamboa, Gronk, and Ruben Ortiz Torres.

This exhibition focuses on the relationship between the gallery space and the works of art and relationship between the arts pieces themselves.

There are three components that were used to create this particular exhibition according to Siqueiros.

The first being that this installation speaks to the architectural space, making sure the gesture of the space and the art that inhabits it.

Second being that the installation is the equivalents counterpoints, also making sure the color swatches that are placed unframed in specific areas surrounding the primary museography

Third is an inside conversation between then structural art work and the equivalent swatches, which creates the whole and complete museography.

“Architectural Museography II” responds to the equation of the concern of increasing quality time between the public and the art object.

The installation was produced through hypothethical instructions via email and digital images.

The exhibition will run from Oct. 7 through Nov. 4 in the Cerritos College art gallery, which is located in FA50.

In addition, Ofelia Esparza will create the traditional alter for the celebration of Day of the Dead. The whole reason behind this celebration is to celebrate the annual commemoration of the dead.

Reception for Day of the Dead will be Monday, Nov. 3 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
