Art club visits walk in LA

The Art Society Club had a chance to go to the art walk in Downtown LA on Thursday. Galileo Gonzales, the president of the art club said, “sometimes there is good art and sometimes there is bad art, overall it’s pretty cool.  We get to see what’s going on in the LA art scene”

There are more than 40 galleries and museums located throughout the central downtown area, within the walk able districts between the Grand Avenue / Disney Hall / MOCA, Little Tokyo, the Financial District, and centered around Gallery Row on Main and Spring Streets in the Historic Core.

Most venues are open at least 12-9PM, but some may open later than 12PM or close earlier than 9PM;

“The art walk is pretty cool,” Joel Nunez said, “it’s a good downtown night vibe, where everyone is looking at art and you can go to a bar and drink some wine depending on your age.”

The art society club has been going to the art walk in the past and enjoy their time there, after they walk around and look at the beautiful art, the club goes  to a near by restaurant eat, and talk about the different art that they saw.

John Revola said, “I like to see a variety of art work and it expands my visions on art, and they had some good music while we were walking.”

Some other people like Edson Martinez, who didn’t go with the club but is associated with the club, went with friends and liked the art, he went on to say, “I go to the art walk to look at different types of art to get inspired, sometimes I don’t get inspired at all and it makes me want to make better art to top them.”

Brian Chin, who is starting to be an artist, took the time at the art walk to get to see the different types of art and to get a better sense of what kind of art he would like to paint.

The art walk is a place where people can go and see a variety of paintings and discuss the types of color the artist use and to reflect on the painting to see if comes alive in their mind and what message it brings to them.
