April 20, 2020The Disaster Distress Helpline, 1-800-985-5990 is a 24/7 365-day-a-year National hotline dedicated to providing immediate crisis counseling for people who are experiencing emotional distress related to any natural or human caused disaster, including an infectious disease outbreak. This toll free, multilingual, and confidential crisis support is available to all residents in the United States and its territories. Stress, anxiety and other depression-like symptoms are common reactions after a disaster. Call 1-800-985-5990 or text TalkWithUs to 66746 to connect with a trained counselor.
The Disaster Distress Helpline puts people in need of counseling on the path to recovery. Staff members provide counseling and support before, during and after disasters and refer people to local disaster-related resources for follow-up care and support.

Virtual Community Forum on Lot at 166th Street and Studebaker Road

April 20, 2020In light of Governor Newsom’s Stay at Home orders, Cerritos College will host a virtual community forum to update residents about changes to its property located at the 166th Street and Studebaker Road corner lot. On September 18, 2017, the Cerritos City Council approved the College's Temporary Use Permit (TUP) for four years. The TUP authorizes the College to convert the property at 166th Street and Studebaker Road into an automobile storage facility. The Cerritos College Board of Trustees passed a resolution on September 6, 2017, to address issues raised by residents and the City, including dust and light mitigation, hours of operation, loading of vehicles, security, and landscaping. The College continues to work closely with the City of Cerritos to meet the requirements outlined in the TUP. Sexual Assault Awareness Month | Teal Table Talk

The discussions will focus on human sex trafficking and will allow attendees a FalconSafe space to address their issues and concerns related to sexual violence. There will be free a giveaway.
