Charlotte and Tulsa are just the latest communities grappling with an ongoing, debate over police shootings, protest violence and social justice. Two black men were shot and killed by police officers in two different American cities this week. The deaths of Terence Crutcher and Keith Lamont Scott cut deep into the hearts of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Charlotte, North Carolina. Each incident sparks a renewed and wrenching conversation within communities of color. Police killings of black people has raised the total to more than 200 in this year alone.
In the September 29 panel at 11 a.m., we examine the latest police shootings with LAPD and Skipp Townsend of 2nd Call. 2nd Call is a community based organization designed to save lives, by reducing violence and assisting in the personal development of high risk individuals, proven offenders, ex-felons, parolees and others who society disregards.
