ASCC honors outstanding students at awards banquet

The Associated Students of Cerritos College hosted a banquet to honor clubs and provide scholarships to students that have shown great commitment to Cerritos.

The ASCC provided certificates, gold,silver,and bronze awards, along with different scholarships.

ASCC scholarships went to David Aguirre, Brittnee Dennis, Yessenia Cortez, Oscar Franco, Pritika Hirani, Jiyeon Hong, Areal Hughes, Briana Koeppe, Luis Ong, and Marco Tolento.

The Man & Women of the Year award went to Felipe Grimaldo, Evelia Mendoza, and Suzanne Grijlva. 

Suzanne was awarded The Chief of Justice Gavel, and The Life Time Pass scholarship with Oscar.

Felipe Grimaldo was awarded The ASCC President Gavel in addition to receiving the Presidents Award presented by Dr. Linda Lacy with honor calling him “an outstanding young man.”

Felipe is also President of the International Club Council, 2010 Mr. Cerritos, and President of the Veterans Club.

Felipe said “I am very happy to be recognized for my participation throughout the year. I am happy to share the title of Man & Woman of the year with Suzanne Grijalva and Evie Mendoza, they both deserve it for their great leadership commitment, and I know they care about our school, and have good intentions.”

ASCC Vice President Gavel was awarded to Luis Ong.
 
Service and Leadership certificates also recognized outstanding Student Advisor, along with recognizing all the clubs that participated in the Hoe Down Days Booths.
 
The International Club was recognized for having the most school spirit.

The ASCC distributed Athletes of the Year Awards to Luis Gonzalez and Hillary Perez-Ashley. Freshman awards to Samantha Garcia, and PJ Gabayeron.

Terrell Berry former President of Black Student Union received the Gold Falcon award for excel student services, and participation in school programs. In addition with the Frantone’s scholarship worth $1500.

He also received an award for outstanding student, that came with a scholarship. “With this being my last year I am pleased to be honored for my involvement with school activities. I feel that being involved in these clubs will enhance my skills in school and work.”

Outstanding Club recognition award based on curricular went to The Board Of Accountancy Club. 

The Spark Plug award went to International Student Association Club. Special Interest Club award went to Student Veterans Club, and Triathlon Club.

Special Interest awards went to Denise Marshall, and Dean Ackland.

iFalcon Scholarships went to  Alejandro Nunez, and Daniel Murillo.
