Quincy Jones is a music tycoon. He has received the most grammy nominations in history of music 76 nominations & 26 awards.

Tiger Woods is the youngest black golfer to win a masters tournament in 1997. He was also the highest paid athlete in 2005 with earnings of $87 million.

Wilt Chamberlin was the first black basketball player to score 100 points in the 1961 basketball season. He is also the first player to reach 30,000 points within his career.

Booker T. Washington was the first black man to be honored on a US stamp in 1946.

Minnie Lee Elders was the first black woman to serve as the US surgeon general.

Ben Carson was the first neurosurgeon to successfully operate and separate a pair of Siamese twins, that were joined at the back of the head 1987.

Madame G. Walker created hair products for African American hair, “Sara Breed Love”. She was the first black woman to be a millionaire.

Robert L. Johnson was the founder and creator of BET (Black Entertainment Television). Also the first black man to become a billionaire.

Richard Theodore Greener was the first black man to graduate from Harvard 1890.

Guion Bluford was the first black astronaut to launch into space.

Willie Thrower was the first black quarter back to start in the NFL in 1953.

Sidney Poitier was the first black actor to receive Oscar award. He won best actor for “Lillies of the Field” in 1963. He was nominated best actor academy award for his role in “The Defiant One” in 1968. He insisted on having a 50% black film crew. He was the first black man to kiss a white woman on screen in “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” in 1967.
