The new version of 1984’s “Footloose” has updated moves and a sexier look but retains the story line.

Actor Kenny Wormald (Jackass) plays Ren MacCormack, a teenager who moves to a small town wherein dancing has been declared against the law.

Kevin Bacon once played the role of MacCormack which made him famous 27 years ago. Good thing Wormald was able to follow Bacon’s footsteps and was able to pull off the leading role.

For some reason, MacCormack likes to dance and when he’s told he can’t, he starts his own campaign to get the ban overturned so the kids can all dance.

The plot is a little flat throughout the movie, but the great cast seems to make this movie a worthwhile entertainment ride because of the new dance moves it shows the audience.

MacCormack’s love interest, Ariel Moore, played by actress Julianne Hough, was something to look forward to.

The remake mostly showed exact scenes and lines from the 1984 original movie. But there were some parts which were changed that made the movie less interesting to watch.

The original’s plot was so simple, it’s hard to try and deliver something completely different while maintaining the original story.

The scenes where they were dancing and singing evoked audience members to join along. Of course, the movie wouldn’t be complete without the famous Footloose dance at the end.

Watching the movie once is enough. Overall, it was entertaining but it’s not something I am looking forward to watch over and over again.
